Katie Linnane & Friends

Katie Linnane and Friends at Fuller Moon Arts Festival, Sun. August 27, 7-9PM

Some of the finest traditional Irish musicians performing in the U.S.

Katie Linnane - fiddle

Katie, from Pearl River, NY, grew up surrounded by music in her childhood home, also the venue for her mother Kathy’s music school. She studied for many years with fiddle great, Willie Kelly and it is through Willie that Katie cultivated an affinity for Clare music and developed a keen ear for great repertoire. Immersed in New York City's thriving Irish music scene and in demand as a teacher and performer across the tri-state area, Katie has cultivated her style through playing with many of the top performers associated with the North East scene including Mike Rafferty, Patrick Ourceau, Eamon O’Leary, John Morrow, and Kevin Crawford.

Ivan Goff - uilleann pipes / Irish flute

Ivan is from Dublin and is a member of Irish traditional band Danú. He has performed/toured worldwide in duets and ensembles with many household names of Irish music including Iarla Ó Lionáird, Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh, Martin Hayes, Cormac Breatnach, Eileen Ivers, Dervish, Lúnasa, and more recently with Irish Music Masters with John Doyle, Seamus Egan, John Williams, and Cathie Ryan. Since arriving in New York over two decades ago, Ivan's credits range from film and theater to guest appearances with the New York Philharmonic. Ivan has performed at venues such as MoMA, The Guggenheim, Disney Hall (LA) and on Broadway in productions such as Riverdance, Sting's The Last Ship, and Come From Away. Ivan has masters degrees from University College Dublin, Queens University Belfast, and a PhD in music from NYU

Anna Colliton - bodhran

Anna Colliton's distinctively buoyant and imaginative playing has made her one of the leading exponents of the bodhrán, the traditional Irish frame drum. Anna has appeared with Cherish the Ladies, Eileen Ivers, Comas, the Paul McKenna Band, and many others, was a dedicated sub for the Broadway hit musical "Come From Away," and completed a three year residency at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, performing daily at the International Showcase at Epcot Theme Park. Based in New York City, Anna has performed and taught at dozens of festivals across the country, including Catskills Irish Arts Week, The Swannanoa Gathering Celtic Week, Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival, The Gulf Coast Cruinniú, Augusta Celtic Week, The O’Flaherty Irish Music Retreat, The St. Louis Tionol, Tune Junkie Weekend, and CCE MAD Week.

Jefferson Hamer - guitar, singer

Guitarist, singer and songwriter from Brooklyn, New York. He has toured and recorded albums with Anais Mitchell (Child Ballads, winner of a BBC2 Folk Award), Sarah Jarosz (as guitarist and harmony singer on her Grammy-nominated Blue Heron Suite), and Session Americana. The Murphy Beds, his long-running traditional folk duo with Eamon O’Leary, has released two self-produced albums, about which the Huffington Post wrote, “[the album] bears repeated listening from start to finish, with ten beautiful, crystalline songs.” His original songs and lead guitar work are featured on Alameda, an acoustic and electric collaboration with bassist Jeff Picker and drummer John Fatum, featuring special guests from the NYC folk community and beyond.
